One Bad Turn Pleases Another...
The Oscar is crap. And it's only good when some really great actor/actress snubs the award, like Marlon Brando or Woody Allen, or some great film manages to win over the powerful as an underdog, like Fernanda Torres herself would be if she win, even if she won't snub anything, especially because she's always been corrupted by the mainstream, she's never been politically revolutionary, neither her nor her mother, because revolutionaries never win, only always lose, often their own lives. But then trying to minimize one of the worst racist stereotypes in the history of television, made by a rich white girl from Leblon, who has already apologized for how horrible it was, by demeaning a black woman as a dumb, deformed maid with a whip in her hand? Comparing this disgusting thing to a gigantic character from an Etan Cohen script, which shows the greatest satirical/philosophical critique of blackface, believe it or not, since Spike Lee's Bamboozled? And more, comparing yet another cinematic characterization, which may even be a bad product, of a black woman as another black woman, to pay tribute to one of the most important black women in the history of humanity, the queen Nina Simone? Seriously? And still wanting to justify and minimize the mess by saying that at the time the conceptually weak book denouncing structural racism had not yet been released? This way it will give room to soften the Elon Musk's Nazi salute, another bougie-ass.
