Small, simple dreams (poem)

Small, simple dreams

They were small, simple dreams

The kind from hide-and-seek

In others, just a timid embrace

A smile and a tear

Some tenuous moments

A few steps walked side by side

Arm in tender arm

A glance and a wave from afar

Sometimes a sweet joy

Just a new, gentle song

A poem you never tire of

That lingers in the aching heart

And of silent, humble feelings

Half a loaf for each, and that is all

In that joke and the bursts of laughter

Cities that live in the very same space

And may the grace of this day never end

And may the sacred night turn in circles

For as long as everyone still exists

The same ones together, and together forever
